After reading the description of what the package includes and after playing the demo, I know that there are a lot of things I want to change...
1. Levels/Areas
2. Weapons
3. Level Up/Experience Point System
4. Potions/Armor
5. Enemies
6. NPCs
7. Character Design
8. Home Storage
9. Anything else that comes to mind while playing around with the editor
1. Levels/Areas - Unless I'm mistaken, the starter kit only comes with two distinct areas, which are the village and the monster forest. I want to add in a couple more areas for the player to be able to roam around in and explore. I was thinking along the lines of adding a few caves, some bodies of water, some grasslands, and perhaps even a beach and lava area.
2. Weapons - The weapon system in the game is very basic, giving a total of 3 weapons with one attack mode each. I was thinking of adding another weapon type (bombs), as well as a secondary attack for each weapon and different weapon variants. For the sword, I was thinking about giving different texture designs to make different swords look like an ax, mace ect. and giving different weapon pickups different powers like +1 attack or +2 fire damage. The secondary attack for the sword (or melee weapons) will be a spin move where the player attacks with the sword in a complete circle around themselves. The bows would have the similar power attributes but instead of an overall different texture, just different colored bows. The secondary attack for the bow would be a three arrow power shot to take out multiple enemies. for the wand, I would do the same as the bow, only color changes (of both the wand and the magic power balls). The secondary attack for the wand would be to hypnotize a non-boss type enemy to fight for you for a limited amount of time. The bombs will be generic and cannot be used multiple times (you can only use a bomb depending on how many you have in your inventory). They can either be thrown or placed as landmines. All secondary attacks (except for the bomb's) will have a charge time the player will have to wait before using that attack again.
3. Level Up/Experience Point System - For the level up system, I'll want enemies to drop experience points and for the player to be able to gain experience by taking on quests from people in the village. at different levels, the player can choose to either increase their health (by one half a heart) or be able to upgrade one of their 4 weapons.
4. Potions/Armor - Enemies I want to change the art style for a little bit and add ranged attacks to some of them. I want the enemies of different regions to be more difficult and challenging to beat and I would also like to add some bosses in the game (possibly one of each enemy type).
5. Enemies - Instead of having enemies drop hearts for health, I want the player to be able to use potions that they can find in chests, buy from the store, or dropped by certain enemies (like bosses). I was thinking about making different potions that could give the player temporary health regeneration or a boost in attack power. I also wanted to add armor to the game which will add extra hearts to the player's health (armor will not be destroy-able). Special armor will also have abilites (ex. +1 movement speed, +2 slime resistance)
6. NPCs - The change I want to make to the NPCs is that I want to add dialogue options so the player can communicate with the NPCs and receive quests from them that they can complete for rewards.
7. Character Design - Before the game starts I want the player to be able to customize their character a bit with hairstyle, skin color, gender and I haven't decided if I wanted to add a change of clothes or not since armor will take the place of clothes for the most part.
8. Home Storage - At the start of the game, there is a chest that contains some money and hearts, I want to make that chest a storage chest for the player where they can put any extra items that they can't hold in their inventory to save for later or sell to the merchant.
9. Anything Else... - these are the main things I wanted to change about the game so far, but I'm sure once I play around with the editor, I will find more things I want to edit, so this change is here to take the place of any changes I'll come up with later on.
